Hazrat Musa (AS) – The Story of a Great Prophet in the Light of the Qur’an
Hazrat Musa (AS), also known as Prophet Moses, is one of the most mentioned Prophets in the Holy Qur’an. His life is filled with lessons of faith, courage, patience, and the victory of truth over falsehood. Allah (SWT) sent him as a Messenger to guide the people of Egypt and free Bani Isra’il (the Children of Israel) from the tyranny of Pharaoh.
Birth and Early Life
Hazrat Musa (AS) was born at a time when Pharaoh had ordered the killing of all newborn boys from Bani Isra’il. By the command of Allah, his mother placed him in a basket and set it afloat on the Nile River. The basket reached Pharaoh’s palace, and he was raised under the very roof of his enemy.
Prophethood and Mission
As Musa (AS) grew, Allah blessed him with Prophethood and commanded him to call Pharaoh to worship the One True God. Despite many miracles, including his staff turning into a serpent and the parting of the Red Sea, Pharaoh rejected his message and was destroyed by Allah’s punishment.
Lessons from His Life
The story of Hazrat Musa (AS) teaches us trust in Allah, patience in trials, and standing firm against oppression. His struggle reminds us that truth always prevails, no matter how powerful falsehood may appear.
